If you wish to discover Rimini hinterland and all its gems, we will give you the right information on what you really should not miss.

Hinterland villages
A few kilometres from Rimini are some of the most beautiful villages in Italy. One is Verucchio, famous for its Malatesta Fortress, the Archaeological Museum and the beautiful medieval centre, which offers a wonderful view of Montefeltro and the Riviera Romagnola.
Close to Verucchio there is San Leo, another picturesque and well-known village which stands high on a rocky spur and whose entrance is an arch carved into the rock. The medieval village is enriched by a Lombard Romanesque-style cathedral, an ancient Romanesque-style parish church, a military-style castle where the alchemist Cagliostro was imprisoned and lost his life.
Do you love stories and legends? Do not miss out on the village of Montebello, famous for its castle, where the ghost of Azzurrina is said to be still hovering.
Finally, visit Santarcangelo di Romagna, a lively and cheerful town with a beautiful historic centre and a main street dotted with shops and clubs. In Santarcangelo you can also visit an ancient fortress built in the Middle Ages by the Malatesta family, the famous eighteenth-century arch of Clement XIV and a series of caves dug in pre-Christian times.
